Details & FAQs

Is there a cost to become a Drop Ship Partner?

No, there’s no upfront fee to become a drop ship customer with us. You only pay for the products when you make a sale, meaning there’s no need to hold inventory or invest in bulk stock. This makes drop shipping a low-risk, cost-effective way to grow your business.

All you need is a Shopify store to connect with our product catalog, and you’re ready to start selling!

How does the program work?
  • Apply: Apply via email to be an authorized drop ship partner is simple, just contact us here to apply.
  • Choose Your Products: Connect with us via Shopify Collective (Retailer) and add our products to your store.
  • Set Your Prices: Our everyday retail prices give you an automatic 30% margin on every product of ours sold.
  • Communicate to Your Followers: Promote and sell to your audience.
  • We Handle Fulfillment: Orders come directly to our fulfillment center and we promptly ship directly to your customers.
  • Grow Your Profits: Focus on selling and growing your business – we’ll do the rest!
What is my profit margin?

There are 2 different ways for you to make a profit margin.

  1. Set Your Own Prices: You have the flexibility to price products above the standard retail rate. Since our prices are already structured as wholesale, this strategy works particularly well for boutique craft stores serving niche audiences, such as students, local fundraisers, or specialty markets. This approach allows you to maximize profits while catering to your specific community or audience.

  2. Wholesale Profit Margin: You’ll earn a 20% margin on all products sold at our everyday wholesale prices. For example, if you sell $100 worth of products, you’ll make $20 in profit. In addition, you profit 100% of any additional markup you have for your customers. This straightforward pricing structure ensures consistent earnings on every sale.
Who handles shipping and fulfillment?

We do! DIY Craft Warehouse holds all of the inventory and ships the orders directly to your customers.

Do I need to hold inventory?

No, we manage all inventory, packing, and shipping.

How do I start selling?

You can choose either option to get started. If you’d like our recommendation, we suggest Shopify Collective for its simplicity and ease of use.

Shopify Collective

  1. Open a Shopify store and connect through Shopify Collective for Retailers.
  2. Follow the setup instructions, then search for DIY Craft Warehouse.
  3. Select and connect the products you want to sell seamlessly.
What products can I sell?

We offer craft supplies, tumblers, beads, seasonal products, and more.

Do I have to pay for shipping to my drop ship customers?

We provide $10 flat-rate shipping for all drop ship orders and strongly recommend passing this cost directly to your customers. If the cost to ship the order is greater than $10, we pay 100% of that cost.

Can I use your website images and descriptions?

With Shopify Collective for Retailers, you automatically have permission to use our product images and descriptions on those platforms, making it effortless to list and sell our products in your store.

What’s the difference between Drop Shipping, Affiliate, Blogger, Content Creator, and Influencer Marketing?

Drop Shipping and Affiliate Marketing are both great ways to sell products, but they work differently:

  • Drop Shipping: You sell products directly to customers through your store. When an order is placed, the supplier (like us) fulfills and ships the product to the customer. You set your own prices and earn a margin on each sale. Drop shipping allows you to build your own brand and customer relationships.
  • Affiliate Marketing: You promote someone else’s products using a special link. When a sale is made through that link, you earn a commission (a one-time percentage of the sale). You don’t handle inventory, customer service, or shipping, but you also don’t control pricing or branding. We offer Affiliate Marketing as part of our Rewards Program. Simply sign up and go to the rewards page for your affiliate link.
  • Blogger, Content Creator, Influencer Marketing: You promote our products on your website in exchange for free product or link exchanges. Read more about this opportunity.

Which is Better? If you want to build your own business and brand, drop shipping is the better option because you have control over pricing, customer relationships, and product selection.

Is being a drop ship retailer a successful business model?

Absolutely! Drop shipping can be a highly successful business model when done right. It allows you to start selling products without the overhead costs of inventory or warehousing. By focusing on marketing, customer service, and building your brand, drop shippers can create profitable businesses with minimal risk.

The key to success is partnering with reliable suppliers (like DIY Craft Warehouse) who offer quality products, real-time inventory updates, and seamless fulfillment. This allows you to focus on growing sales while we handle the rest. Many drop shippers thrive by selecting niche products, understanding their audience, and leveraging platforms like Shopify and Syncee to streamline their operations.

Is a Shopify website expensive?

Shopify offers flexible pricing plans to suit different business needs, making it an affordable option for most sellers. Their plans start as low as $39/month (Basic Plan) and include essential tools like website hosting, payment processing, marketing tools, and support for e-commerce operations.

While there are additional costs for credit card transaction fees and optional apps, Shopify’s user-friendly platform and all-in-one features is preferred by many businesses and drop shippers.
